Favorite Photos: Bird’s Eye View

This week’s #FriFotos theme is “rooftops”, which turns out to be much more fun than I’d anticipated. Roofs give us perspective: Whether we’re gazing up at them or taking in a near-aerial view of them from the sky, they remind us that we’re really so small compared to the rest of the universe. Here are some of my favorite rooftop shots from my travels.

View of Wurzburg, Germany, from the Marienberg Fortress.

An Asian-influenced roof in Florida’s Naples Botanical Garden.

A snow-laden roof in post-blizzard Jungholz, Austria.

A tin roof in the Belize countryside.

View of the city from inside Scotland’s Edinburgh Castle.

The “Golden Roof” in Innsbruck, Austria

Bright red roof on Nantucket, Massachusetts.

A dilapidated roof in Death Valley.

More Innsbruck: View of the rooftops from the Nordkette.

Rooftop views from Belvedere Castle in New York’s Central Park.

An aerial view of the city from the London Eye.

Pride in Provincetown, Massachusetts.

Look familiar? Reykjavik, Iceland.
