Today’s theme for #FriFotos is “chocolate”. I am a huge chocolate lover, so I had my pick of photos, but when I saw this one I knew I there was no contest. THIS picture best covered chocolate for me.
Sachertorte comes to mind immediately when people think of Austrian chocolate dessert. But I could never get behind it. Maybe it was the apricot jelly layered inside, or that fact that it just wasn’t very… well, chocolatey. Every restaurant served sachertorte, but not many had the type of chocolate goodness I was looking for.
So when Jess and I stopped off at Konditorei Braun in Mondsee during our Sound of Music tour, we were pleased to find a huge variety of desserts. Jess went with their specialty – Apfelstrudel with warm vanilla sauce – while I went with the warm schokoladenkuchen. It was worth waiting for.
